“Social In-Security”

I long ago arrived at the conclusion that there’s no point is worrying about things that are out of your control. I mean really, what’s the point? If there’s nothing that you can personally do to change the outcome of the inevitable result, no influence that you can apply to change what is sure to happen, then why sweat it? Such action is a roadmap to an early grave.

Take for instance the political hot buttons know as the “Unfunded Entitlements”: Social Security and Medicare. These two little gems are underfunded somewhere in the neighborhood of $76 TRILLION dollars, according to the Government Accountability Office. And, regardless of your political affiliation, you have to concede that this problem is only going to grow in light of the new health care reform legislation that passed last month, part of which is “paid for” by cuts in Medicare. Yeah, I know, somewhat of a conundrum. But having said all of that, what are you, yourself going to do about it? Make a sign and picket with the Tea Partiers? I’m with you. Call your congressman? I have; most of them aren’t listening; obviously.

If anything, they’re going the other way. According the an article earlier this month in The New York Times, the Social Security Administration, for the first time, will pay out more in benefits than it brings in from payroll tax revenue. This was a threshold not expected to be crossed until 2016.

Bottom line: somebody’s gonna get the short end of the stick. Eventually, there will be cuts. That’s the only way to solve the problem. And largely, there’s nothing that you can do about it.

What you can do is make sure that you have control of the rest of your financial house. What you can do is to be a constant gardener of your personal financial assets; make sure that you keep what you’ve got and that what you’ve got is working as hard as it can for you.

There’s another storm brewing in the financial markets. It’s been a largely silent epidemic, but none the less, has claimed many a victim. Exacerbated by the recent economic turmoil, these problems are affecting even more than before. And to many, it’s the least likely suspect: your Life Insurance policy. Although not as complex or deceptive as many of the financial products masterminded by the Wall Street gang, your life insurance policy is likely more involved than you might think and possibly less secure than you believe. More and more unsuspecting owners of permanent life insurance are learning, some too late, that they did not understand what they purchased, that their investment may not be as secure as they believe it to be.

However, unlike Social Security or Medicare, there is something that you can do to safe-guard your life insurance investment and claim permanent peace of mind. Have your permanent life insurance policies reviewed by a financial professional, one that specializes in life insurance sustainability. Trust me when I tell you this: If you neglect to seek this assurance in your investment and run into problems here, there will assuredly be no government bailout for you…
